HI-DUTCH - 'PORTRAIT 01'

Hi-Dutch, Flexx Lex and Gallery Target unite for a unique ceramic sculpture Edition

Hi-Dutch Takahiro Hida B. 1972 Japan

Epitomising the art of upcycling, Hi-Dutch’s surfboard-repairing skills, and environmental conscience collide in a fusion of recycled materials and specialist craftsmanship. Driftwood, yarn, ink and resin, while not the most obvious combination of materials, become in the hand of Hi-Dutch, the perfect melting pot of mediums.

Hi-Dutch manages to straddle the line between wall-hanging works and three-dimensional forms. Regardless of scale and colour palette, his attention to detail always shines through the varnish–distinctive graining and bold surf deck-inspired line formations; his signature style.
